Setting up your existing feeding station to restrict squirrel access is superior to purchasing a new squirrel proof feeder, which can be complicated and expensive. Luckily, Erva Tool and Manufacturing makes a variety of products to keep squirrels from your bird feeder. The Hanging Squirrel baffle is convenient and works as long as the feeder is not larger than 12″ in diameter. The baffle is available in two colors powder-coated green or unpainted galvanized steel. These are 21”diameter- the largest hanging baffle we have found.
The Erva Hanging Squirrel Baffle note: the feeder should hang at least 4′ above ground and 8 – 10 feet from any trees, sheds, deck railings etc. that a squirrel might use to jump directly on to the feeder.
