The Great Gray Owl in Jackson County

June 13, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Great Gray Owl Presentation at Northwest Nature Shop, Ashland Oregon

Harry Fuller, author, birding guide and former resident of Ashland, will discuss the habits and habitat of the elusive great Gray Owl. Jackson County is a hotspot for this species. This county may have more resident Great Gray Owls than all of California, where it is endangered. Thankfully, the birds are breeding this year as was not the case last year due to drought. Fuller will share some of the beautiful images captured by a small coterie of Great Gray Owl lovers who live in or near Ashland.

Harry Fuller is co-author of The Great Gray Owls of California, Oregon and Washington. He is a birding guide and former president of the Klamath Bird Observatory’s Board of Directors. He was co-founder of the Ashland Christmas Bird Count, now over a decade old and going strong.

Presentation is free at 7 pm at Northwest Nature Shop, 154 Oak St., Ashland on Tuesday June 13th.
