Guided Spring Mushroom Walk on Saturday May 13th – SOLD OUT

Spend the day searching for wild fungi with local mushroom expert, Mike Potts on Saturday, May 13th. Springtime in the southern Oregon Cascades offers an abundance of beautiful mushrooms, including some of the most sought-after wild mushrooms in the world. We will encounter edible and poisonous varieties and learn identifying features to confidently harvest your own wild edible mushrooms. Participants will meet at NW Nature Shop at 10 am and travel to the foraging location (approximately 45 minute drive from Ashland).  Return to Ashland by 3:00 pm.  The location of each hike will be disclosed at a later date to give us flexibility in planning around weather and mushroom abundance.

Cost is $55 per participant. Children accompanied by adults are free. Be prepared for adverse weather. Wear appropriate hiking shoes (We will be doing some off-trail walking on uneven terrain), bring a water bottle, lunch, pocket knife, non-plastic collecting bag or basket, rain gear, a mushroom ID book if you have one, and a whistle.
