Saving the Wellington Wildlands

November 9, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join Northwest Nature Shop in watching a 16 minute documentary, Saving Wellington, about the Wellington Wildlands followed by a talk by the Applegate Neighborhood Network. This spectacular film highlights the Wellington Wildlands a beautiful section of forest between Applegate and Ruch and the threat of logging to the area posed by BLM’s proposed Bear Grub Timber Sale. Public lands, including those of  the Wellington Wildlands near the Rogue, Illinois and Applegate valley region are designated by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature as one of only seven Areas of Global Biological Significance on the continent of North America.  The region has been proposed as both a World Heritage Site and UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. This 7,500 acre needs protection.  Come to be informed about this proposed logging project in our backyard and how you can make your voice heard.

The film Saving Wellington was created by Ed Keller, Greeley Wells, and the Applegate Neighborhood Network (ANN).
